The demand for ANNE WITH AN E to be renewed has grown exponentially since the announcement of its cancelation after season three in late November. Disheartened fans immediately started a petition to save the show, which they felt was unjustly canceled. Within a few days, the petition amassed over 30,000 signatures, and toward the beginning of December it reached over 75,000 signatures. After season three premiered on Netflix on January 3, 2020, the show continued to gain traction through fan recommendations and media coverage. As a result, the petition soared to 200,000 on February 15!
Spurred on by the knowledge that other shows were eventually renewed with the help of their petitions, like Lucifer (304K), One Day at a Time (110K), and The Expanse (130K), fans continued to relentlessly share the petition.
The fandom celebrated reaching 300,000 signatures, a new record, on April 26, 2020, and proceeded to trend ANNE 300K on Twitter.
